Co-Founder Opening

Tooling Studio Growth Co-Founder (MBA Builder Track)

We are looking for a young, hungry commercial co-founder to help turn our early traction into real scale.

About Tooling Studio

Tooling Studio builds browser-based tools that live inside Google Workspace. We are making a control center for founders, agencies, and SMBs who run their day through Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Sheets.

We have already launched:

  • Kanban Tasks (Google Workspace-native task boards)
  • Sales CRM (built to work where your conversations actually happen: Gmail)

We are past 1,000+ active users, we are shipping fast, and we have early revenue.

Tooling Studio is backed by Addon Ventures. You will work closely with Eric de Zeeuw, who is exceptionally strong at building product, shipping PoCs fast, and creating sharp marketing materials and demos.

You will also have support from a team of marketers, designers, and engineers who can help execute your growth ideas quickly.

Who This Is For

This is for someone finishing (or recently finished) a business program in Europe/USA who has done real entrepreneurial experiments during the program, like:

  • built a side project and got users
  • ran growth tests (landing pages, ads, content, partnerships)
  • tried to sell something (even if it was messy)
  • shipped scrappy MVPs and learned fast
  • loves the "try it, learn, ship again" loop

You are not looking for a safe role in a big company. You want your career to start with ownership, not permission.

The Role: Sales + Marketing Co-Founder

Early on, this is a hybrid role: you will do both growth marketing and hands-on sales. Not enterprise selling, but real founder-mode commercial work: outreach, demos, partnerships, closing early deals, and turning learnings into scalable channels.

What you will do (first 90 days)

  • Talk to users daily: founders, agencies, SMB owners
  • Run scrappy experiments: messaging, positioning, onboarding, pricing pages, offers
  • Drive adoption: outreach, demo calls, follow-ups, closing first expansions
  • Build distribution loops: agency referrals, partner deals, community plays
  • Pick 2-3 growth channels, test fast, double down on what moves the needle

What you will own over time

  • Growth strategy across content, SEO, partnerships, paid (when ready), and lifecycle
  • Commercial engine: conversion, retention, upgrades, expansion within accounts
  • GTM narrative: why Tooling Studio wins in Google Workspace workflows

What We're Looking For

  • High drive, high pace, low ego
  • Entrepreneurial itch
  • Strong communication and sales instinct (you can get people to try things)
  • Marketing curiosity (you like testing angles, channels, copy, funnels)
  • Analytical enough to track what works and kill what does not
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You will create the playbook, not follow one.

This is not a CMO job. It is a founder seat for someone who wants to earn it.

Comp (Important)

We do not pay a salary at this stage. This is an equity-first co-founder role.

We have found experienced candidates often need cash compensation. That is why we are intentionally looking for a younger builder who wants to trade comfort for ownership and speed.

Equity can be tied to clear milestones (growth, revenue, retention, channel validation). We will keep it fair and explicit.

Why This Is a Rare Shot

  • Real product is live, real users, real traction
  • Strong product + fast shipping culture already in place
  • You get founder-level responsibility with a team to help execute
  • You will build a portfolio-defining story early in your career: "I helped take this from early traction to scale."
